THE ORGANISATION
The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) is the voice of the construction sector in Ireland. It represents 1,350 employers and comprises 33 constituent Associations, representing various sectors of the industry. The CIF has been appointed by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage as a Statutory Registration Body to establish and maintain a register of providers of building works to be known as the Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI). The Federation will now appoint a Registrar to be responsible for keeping the register and for performing the functions conferred on the Registrar under the Regulation of Providers of Building Works and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022.
THE ROLE
Supporting the CIRI Admissions & Registration Board, the Registrar will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction and governance of the CIF’s function as Registration Body in compliance with the Regulation of Providers of Building Works and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 and responsible for creating awareness and compliance of CIRI registration.
THE PERSON
This post requires an outstanding individual with a proven track record of motivation and delivery in a similar role in a multi-functional professional organisation. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, influencing and networking abilities to interact with individuals and groups at all levels. An appreciation and understanding of the role of the CIRI, of its relationships with central government, and of its legislative framework is desirable.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience of working with a regulatory body/registration system/professional accrediting authority.
• Appropriate academic and/or professional qualifications related to the principal job accountabilities.
• Experience of reporting to a Membership Board.
• Experience developing and establishing quality assurance procedures.
• Significant understanding of best practice governance frameworks.
