THE ORGANISATION
Founded in 1975, Dublin Business School (DBS), is Ireland’s largest independent third-level college with over 8,000 students annually and provides a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, executive and professional programmes. DBS is part of the Kaplan Group, a global provider of continuing and higher education, operating in multiple international markets and teaching hundreds of thousands of students each year. The post of President at DBS will become vacant in the coming months and the Board is now seeking an accomplished individual to serve as the next President, to continue the growth and change that has characterised DBS in recent years.
THE ROLE
The President of DBS is the Chief Executive Officer and leads the organisation, working with the Board to develop the College’s direction and strategy, guiding staff to deliver teaching and service that provides the best educational experience for students and helps them achieve their best outcomes. The President will be a transformative leader who will inspire the College community to help realise its ambitions, in Ireland and abroad. The President will provide important academic, commercial and executive leadership of the College and will be a strong external advocate for our purpose to inspire and nurture every learner to achieve their own career ambitions.
THE PERSON
You will have a demonstrable track record of commercial success ideally coupled with academic leadership and an understanding/appreciation of edtech and how it can apply to higher education delivery. Experience of managing in a private sector educational business would be an advantage, although not a prerequisite. You will possess significant experience that will contribute to the ongoing sustainability of the College, delivering financially viable growth and developing opportunities that align with the vision of the institution to be diverse, innovative and recognised for excellence in teaching and learning. Your background will include strong evidence of leadership and achievement in large complex environments engaging and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. While candidates need not be academics, they must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the culture of academic institutions. Candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of ethics and integrity in all that they do.
