The Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP) was established in 2003 to provide a comprehensive training service for those who wish to pursue professional and academic accreditation in the mental health services, it provides a wide range of accredited and validated courses in counselling, psychotherapy, and related fields. IICP is a division of the leading private education provider the Hibernia College’s Group (HCG), which currently comprises three renowned Colleges: IICP, Hibernia College and Accountancy School. Due to its continued growth, IICP now seeks an ambitious, driven and commercial academic with the capability and vision to lead and guide the School in the next phase of its evolution.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the CEO and Academic Dean of HCG, the Head of School, Health Sciences is responsible for the management, general administration, supervision and operation of the School and will provide leadership and direction to faculty, staff and students.  The Head of School, Health Sciences will work closely with a wide range of functions across the HCG and will help lead its continuing growth and identify opportunities for programme development across the HCG portfolio of courses.


THE PERSON

You will have a demonstrable track record of academic leadership coupled with commercial success and an excellent knowledge of policy, accreditation and curriculum development in the field of health science education. Experience of managing in a private sector educational business would be an advantage, although not a prerequisite. You will have experience of engagement  with public and private bodies, along with professional regulatory bodies. You will possess significant experience that will contribute to the ongoing sustainability of IICP, delivering financially viable growth and developing opportunities that align with the vision of the HCG to be diverse, innovative and recognised for excellence in teaching and learning. Your background will include strong evidence of leadership and achievement in large complex environments engaging and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will possess a strong understanding of corporate governance in addition to excellent change management experience. You will be qualified to level 10 on the QQI national framework of qualifications or close to completion. This challenging role provides the opportunity to work with a major emerging player in the Higher Education sector in Ireland.
