THE ORGANISATION:

ESB is a purpose-led company striving to create a brighter future for the customers and communities we serve, leading the transition to reliable, affordable, low-carbon energy.

Today, we operate one of the most progressive electricity systems in the world, with activities spanning electricity generation, transmission, distribution and supply in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain, and an international energy consulting business.

With 8,000 employees and revenue of over €5bn per annum, we invested €1bn in infrastructure last year, contributed over €2bn to the economies we operate in and distributed over €2m across a range of community initiatives. This requires us to bring the best of our capabilities together to deliver innovative and value-driven solutions that enable our customers to live low-carbon lives. ESB strives to foster an effective and inclusive culture where people engage, challenge and feel connected to our purpose, colleagues, customers and community.

ESB wishes to recruit two Executive Directors reporting to the Chief Executive. The successful candidates will work as part of the Executive Team to shape business strategy, organisation culture and business performance across ESB Group.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – ENGINEERING & MAJOR PROJECTS (E&MP):

Engineering & Major Projects is ESB’s Engineering business unit, with more than 800 staff, charged with the delivery of ESB’s ambitious energy infrastructure investment programme. The person appointed to this role will lead a dedicated and professional team with responsibility for the delivery of major projects, project management capability and engineering services to internal and external customers.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – PEOPLE & ORGANISATION DEVELOPMENT (POD)

People and Organisation Development is the strategic centre responsible for ESB’s groupwide approach to people and culture, encompassing Human Resources, Health & Safety, Environment and Social Sustainability. The person appointed will lead the POD function in ESB so that the organisation has the capabilities to deliver its strategic business objectives by ensuring the ongoing development of ESB as a progressive employer with a strong, values-based and inclusive culture.

These are outstanding opportunities for senior executives with a proven record of delivery and achievement at senior level in a large complex business. The successful candidates will have significant relevant experience and will bring leadership and strategic capability combined with excellent communication and relationship skills.
