THE ORGANISATION

Maynooth University, a place of research and learning for over 14,000 students and almost 1,300 staff, is one of the fastest growing third level institutions on the island of Ireland, with ambitious plans for the future of its campus. The University recognises the critical importance information technology, and the services therefrom play in the context of a rapidly changing technology, academic and business environment. In order to further develop its Digital Service and IT Strategy, Maynooth University wishes to invite applications for the post of Director of Technology to lead the future planning and implementation of information and digital services for the University.

THE ROLE

The Director of Technology has a dual mandate. They will maintain and continually improve availability and delivery of information technology services and support. In addition, in relation to the change agenda, they will provide the vision and leadership for necessary transformation. Specifically, they will lead the development of a comprehensive Digital Service and IT Strategy, consistent with the broader University Strategy and inclusive of a range of transformational initiatives that will enhance and support teaching, research, administration, and information services.


THE PERSON

You will possess significant senior management experience of a similar IT role within a fast-paced technology, academic or business environment. This experience may have been gained in either the public or private sectors. You will possess a demonstratable track record of achievement working in the IT industry and proven experience in Digital and IT planning, organisation and development.

A strategic thinker you will have a proven track record in change management coupled with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. You will possess appropriate academic and/or professional qualifications related to the principal role accountabilities.
