THE ORGANISATION:

The Irish Management Institute (IMI) is listed amongst the world’s top 100 in executive education for Open and Custom programmes, according to the latest Financial Times global rankings. IMI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of University College Cork (UCC). It delivers executive development programmes, events and services from the National Management Campus in Sandyford, Dublin, from UCC’s Centre for Executive Education in Cork, online via digital learning platforms and at client sites on a national and international basis.

THE ROLE:

To support its continued success, IMI is seeking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Deputy CEO who will play a transformational role in enhancing the organisation’s commerciality, agility and scalability. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the appointee will be a leading member of the IMI Senior Management Team. The successful candidate will integrate and lead IMI’s Corporate Services Directorate including the Finance, IT and Facilities functions and will deputise for the CEO, as required. They will play a highly strategic and commercially oriented role, assuming responsibility for the ongoing analysis and evolution of IMI’s business models to ensure profitability and growth. The appointed person will be responsible for championing IMI’s evolution as a data-driven and technologically enabled organisation and for driving a commercially focused culture.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with an excellent record of financial and commercial achievement.

Experience

• Proven experience in managing a breadth of business functions and in the design and implementation of commercial, growth-oriented and sustainable business models.

• Track record of successfully leading organisational transformation programmes.

• Extensive experience in managing and enhancing financial controls and reporting systems and the achievement of operational efficiencies.

• Experienced in corporate governance.
