THE ROLE
UCC is seeking to appoint an exceptional leader to the newly created position of Chief Financial & Operating Officer. The appointed person will play a key role in the implementation and performance of the strategy, ensuring finance and operations are aligned with UCC’s strategic goals and evolving business needs. Reporting to the President, and as a member of the University Leadership Team, the Chief Financial & Operating Officer will drive high performance across the university and will lead the establishment of two new directorates: Commercial and Organisational Intelligence.
THE PERSON
The successful candidate will have an outstanding track record of achievement within a relevant organisation of similar scale and complexity to UCC. With at least 10 years’ experience at senior level, the appointed person will possess exemplary strategic planning, organisational and interpersonal skills. They will demonstrate the credibility, drive and resilience needed to enable the delivery of the university’s strategy through financial and operational excellence. With strong negotiating and influencing skills, the appointee will be capable of delivering significant change in a complex and diverse environment.
