THE ORGANISATION

The newly formed Hibernia Group is a major emerging player in the Higher Education sector in Ireland and currently consists of three leading Colleges: Hibernia College, IICP and Accountancy School. With a distinguished 25-year history of delivering innovative and flexible third level programmes, Hibernia College is an established leader in pioneering new education technologies and embracing change in the ever-evolving world of education. It is currently the leading provider of schoolteachers in Ireland and is also seeking to become a major source of newly qualified nurses and healthcare professionals. IICP is a college of educational excellence for a wide range of accredited and validated courses in counselling, psychotherapy, and related fields. Accountancy School offers intensive accounting courses leading to qualifications in professional accountancy exams for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Hibernia Group now seeks a leader to fulfil our ambitions to grow, both organically and through acquisition, into a leading career-oriented education provider, nationally and internationally, with an emphasis on innovative high-quality courses that are widely accessible and professionally accredited.

THE ROLE

Based in Dublin, reporting directly to the Chair and Board, the new CEO will provide overall leadership to the constituent group companies and the existing senior management team. Working with the board to develop and deliver strategies for the newly formed Group, the CEO will guide staff to deliver excellence in education quality and innovative learning solutions for students to help them achieve their best outcomes. The CEO will be a transformative leader who will provide important commercial and executive leadership to the Hibernia Group and will lead future M&A processes as the Group seeks to acquire other Higher Education Colleges both in Ireland and overseas in the coming years.


THE PERSON

You will have a demonstrable track record of commercial success and business growth ideally coupled with academic leadership and an understanding of edtech and its potential to transform the higher education sector. Experience of managing in a private sector educational business would be an advantage, although not a prerequisite. Your background will include strong evidence of leadership and achievement in large complex environments engaging and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. While candidates need not be academics, they must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the culture of academic institutions.

Candidates will demonstrate high levels of integrity, be highly dependable with a strong understanding of corporate governance and independence to make sound judgement calls.
