THE ORGANISATION

Due to the impending retirement of the current CEO, Cork Co-Operative Marts Ltd wishes to recruit a suitable replacement.

Cork Marts was formed in 1956 and today has circa 9,000 shareholders. It is Ireland’s largest livestock Auctioneers, offering a wide range of services to livestock sellers and buyers. It is also a leading player in the Land and Property sales and land rental market through its CCM Property Network. It has a strong co-operative ethos serving a wide customer base across Munster.

Head Office is based in Macroom with other mart centres in Bandon, Corrin, Skibbereen, Dungarvan and Cahir as well as Property Network offices in Midleton and Mitchelstown. The organisation is also engaged in residential property development through its social housing partnerships, and it has a strong portfolio of commercial properties.

THE ROLE

The CEO reports to the Board and is charged with managing the strategic and operational performance of the organisation. The CEO will lead a dedicated management team across all functional areas and will ensure the achievement of targeted financial results for sales, service and profitability. The CEO will ensure compliance with health & safety and other statutory regulations governing all aspects of the business. Working effectively with the Board and Advisory Committees, the CEO will ensure delivery of the strategic and operational plans for the business.


THE PERSON

The role requires an individual with a proven track record of team leadership, strong management and delivery of commercial success. You will lead a team of experienced individuals dedicated to delivering a sustainable future of growth, service and excellence for Cork Co-Operative Marts Ltd and its subsidiary companies. You will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure a positive employee culture at Cork Co-Operative Marts and foster good business relations with the key stakeholders both within and outside the organisation.
